Water management

Water management

Runoff rainwater has a devastating impact on the environment equal to that of the total sum of industrial and civil wastewater but, generally due to a lack of attention from the legislator, they are often underestimated and trivialized.

Runoff rainwater, also known as rainwater or "stormwater", becomes contaminated by washing the air and surfaces, incorporating everything they find and all types of pollutants from heavy metals to microplastics, from oils to organic micropollutants, which they are then returned to the environment, contaminating the receptor bodies, whether they are rivers, canals, groundwater or seas.
The management of run-off rainwater requires simple purification systems but their management is very complex given the discontinuous nature of the discharge over time and spread throughout the space.

Swi with a unique and expert approach starts from the analysis of the surface washed away by the rainwater to be treated, (such as anthropic activity, characteristics of the yards and the sewerage network, rainfall analysis, and characteristics of the receiving body) to design and build customized systems that guarantee maximum efficiency and reduced costs. Our goal is to transform rainwater from a problem to be managed into an environmental resource. Our range of technologies ranges from the simplest passive filtration systems (patented), to be used directly in the drains, to filtration systems ranging from 1 liter per second up to 500 liters per second, from the continuous qualitative-quantitative monitoring network of water up to the technology to prevent any spillage of potentially polluting liquids into the receptor body.

STORMFILTER®

Sher water treatment solution

It is an innovative technology of simple conception, easy to install and maintain, based on a passive gravity filtration system through a refillable cartridge which allows treating the entire flow rate in line without the need for accumulation volumes. Stormfilter® is one of the most advanced and performing BAT (Best Available Technology) in the field of internationally recognized water treatment.

SW-ERM®

Environmental Risk Management Patent 0001426565

SWERM is an integrated system designed to manage environmental emergencies caused by accidental spills of liquids in infrastructures, airports, ports, and industrial facilities. The SWERM® system allows instant automatic reaction to an accident thanks to an emergency closure system capable of preventing potentially harmful waste from being discharged into the receiving body. This emergency management system is very flexible and can be applied according to specific site needs.

SwInt®

SWInt is an advanced digital solution for monitoring and managing stormwater treatment plants. Designed to meet environmental regulations, SWInt enables remote and continuous monitoring of plant efficiency, ensuring the detection of any hazardous liquid spills. It is an ultra-compact technology, easy to install, and can be integrated into any existing plant without the need for infrastructure modifications. Equipped with predictive software and a SCADA platform, SWInt allows for qualified and quantitative monitoring, offering effective predictive maintenance and reducing operational costs and environmental risks.

SWID

Containerized filtration system Patent 20162447.5

The SWID system is an advanced filtration system for the management and treatment of rainwater from large surfaces and wastewater. SWID® technology is based on a passive filtration process of wastewater inside a modular treatment plant supplied on a specially set up 20' or 40' container. SWID® works completely by gravity and filtration takes place through filter drawers filled with suitable filter media selected based on the pollutants to be intercepted.

PROBONE®

Compact multi-parameter probe for monitoring rainwater

The ProbOne® probe was born from the experience gained in the field of continuous monitoring of rainwater in the context of early-warning systems installed at infrastructures and industrial sites. The probe allows simultaneous and continuous measurement of turbidity, pH, conductivity, and temperature values in a single compact instrument made in a single probe body. Useful for planning and managing maintenance operations in rainwater treatment plants.

SWMEDIA® - FILTERING MEDIUM

The fundamental element of our filters!

From twenty years of experience in the field of rainwater management, SWmedia® was born, a specific filtering media developed and optimized after tests and analyses in the field for the treatment of runoff rainwater. It is composed of selected national raw materials and produced according to a production process that provides for a pre-treatment of granulometric refinement, mixing, and packaging to ensure the best quality of rainwater treatment. SWmedia® is packaged in bags of optimized size and weight suitable for a comfortable and prompt execution of the regenerative maintenance of filtering systems, speeding up construction times and reducing the weights handled by the operators.

HYDROSHARK®

The German technology of Hydroshark is distributed in Italy exclusively by SWIGroup and the overcoming of the "traditional" and inefficient sediment collection and oil trapping tanks. The hydrodynamic sedimentation-oil separator allows the realization of both processes in a single, small-sized product, guaranteeing better efficiency and smaller overall dimensions.

STORMPILLOW® - FILTERING PILLOWS

Our latest discovery for all needs

The Stormpillow® system is used for retrofitting existing storm drains or for situations where it is necessary to guarantee the effective treatment of rainwater in transitory situations such as construction sites with a reduced investment. The system is made to measure according to the type of drain and consists of a cushion made with suitable materials containing a mix of filtering materials of various kinds installed directly inside the drain. The shape and composition of the cushion are such to ensure adequate contact time without significantly altering the drain's drainage capacity.

STORMPILLOW 2.0®

Patent Pending EP22190862.7

StormPillow 2.0® is an innovative solution for stormwater treatment through the retrofitting of existing storm drains. This system, adaptable to any drain, filters 100% of rainwater by channeling the flow through the natural media SWMedia®, which effectively removes suspended solids and dissolved pollutants, including heavy metals and microplastics. Easy to install without construction work and simple to maintain, StormPillow 2.0® offers high-efficiency environmental protection at reduced costs. Maintenance is limited to replacing the media, providing an excellent cost-benefit ratio and minimal impact on existing infrastructure.

FILTERRA®

The green future for rainwater treatment

Filterra is an engineered biofiltration system made up of components that make the treatment process similar to that of bio-retention but optimized for the treatment of high flow rates in a compact system. Its small footprint means that the Filterra is used in highly urbanized sites such as car parks and streets. The Filterra can be adapted and can be used alone or in combination with small Stormfilter® filtration systems.

SWBR

Sequencing Batch Reactor

The SwBR system represents a solution with a complete treatment train characterized by constructive simplicity, solidity, and reduced overall dimensions. This solution provides for the possibility of reusing the purified water leaving the treatment train according to a "Zero discharge" logic, aiming to eliminate the need to discharge the treated water with obvious environmental and economic benefits. SwBR is suitable for the treatment of wastewater and industrial effluents, such as washing water from operating vehicles in ports and industries.

NIVOIL®

The NivOil alarm system represents the evolution in the management of systems in which there are oils, hydrocarbons and sediments in the wastewater. Through three different probes that use different physical operating principles, they are able to detect the three criticalities of the system in which it is installed. It is possible to simultaneously detect: the achievement of the maximum level of oil on the surface, the maximum level of sediment on the bottom and finally the achievement of the maximum level of the reservoir. Easy to install, it allows you to control and manage the status of the system and the cycle of maintenance interventions.
